Lunar ExoCam will show mankind a new vision of the Moon.

The ExoCam payload series will give humanity a new perspective as we journey back to the Moon and onward to Mars.

Design

The ExoCam project is led by Zandef Deksit Inc. and is being fully developed in Southern California.

Honeybee Robotics is responsible for systems engineering and has built the first working prototype (pictured below), successfully tested to withstand the relative impact forces anticipated for lunar deployment.

Ecliptic Enterprises Corp. will handle avionics including coordination of all systems for deployment, communications and data retrieval - as well as the necessary ruggedized customization of the camera to withstand environmental conditions.

Development

The Lunar ExoCam system is designed to deploy from the payload bay of a lunar lander in its final descent stage. At a pre-set height, the ExoCam module will release and fall to the surface, where it will record the lander’s final descent from the ground.

Currently the camera system is employing a battery-powered GoPro MAX 360° with auto-stabilization and onboard WiFi communication.

In Feb-Mar 2020 the first working ExoCam module prototype was engineered and built. See the results of this two-month development right here.

Deployment

In 2021 NASA-funded private corporations will begin sending unmanned lunar landers to the surface of the Moon. NASA has been funding development of these systems through a program called CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services).

These lunar landers will act as a delivery service for sending valuable scientific payload to investigate and gather information as we prepare to send the first woman and next man to the Moon, as directed through NASA’s Artemis program.
